Last week I was happier than usual for no specific
reason. So, I decided to investigate the reason for my happiness.
Normally, we associate our happiness with our goals. For example, I will
be happy when I complete my university degree and once we achieve that
goal, obviously a next one is created. Now that I have graduated from university, I will be happy when I
get a decent job. And the whole life finishes in search of that elusive HAPPINESS. I don't mean to say that we should not make long term goals but it is unwise to link our happiness with those long term goals.
Learn to be happy in your day to day life and then keep working towards long term goals. And I learn t to do that accidentally last week. I have a passion for making YouTube Videos but I always used to create my videos using power point presentations and then insert a background music to give life to my video. Reason being my fear of facing camera. Somehow camera always scared me. I always avoided appearing in front of the camera. But last week was different. I decided (literally forced myself) to face the camera and not only that, I decided to speak in front of the camera. It was not the greatest video that was made but it took me to that state of bliss. I was overjoyed that I finally made the video, the way I wanted to make. I overcame my fear. And this overcoming of my personal fear triggered that happiness. It hardly mattered whether others are liking the video or not but I knew I had won the personal battle against my fear.
So, this became key to my happiness. And now instead of avoiding my fears, sorrows, problems, I search for them to overcome them because I know, there only lies the secret of my happiness.
